Saturday Maker Labs - Light-up Unicorn Headband and Foam Ball Launcher!

​Each workshop is a stand alone class intended for students of any level/experience. Each class will focus on a different build. 

SMaRT Saturday Workshops

March 26th - ​Palm Springs 

Light up Unicorn Headband

Ages 8-10 years old

Time: 9am to 11:30am

Cost: $40 incl. materials

Learn about electrical circuits by building your own light-up unicorn headband!

Students get to take their headband home!

March 26th - Palm Springs

Ball Launcher

Ages: students 10 years or older who are in 5th grade and up. 
Time: 12:30 pm to 3pm
Cost: $40 incl. materials

Students will learn about engineering concepts while building their own ball launcher to launch styrofoam balls!

Students will be able to take their Ball Launcher home with them!

Safety: This Maker Lab requires the use of tools such as screwdrivers, needle nose pliers, and hot glue guns, which have the potential to cause damage to property or harm to persons if not used properly. Please consider this before registering your child for this class. 

All students are required to wear safety glasses during class time. Please be sure to consider this before registering for this class. 

Important things to remember:

All payments are processed online with your bank/debit card or credit card. **Please note: if you are using CHARTER SCHOOL FUNDS, you will need to complete the registration process until up to the payment portion then contact our office via email at to coordinate your payment. Your child's spot in the camp is not guaranteed until we receive confirmation of funds from your charter school.**

Please note: SMaRT Education and its employees cannot be responsible for any money, personal items,  or electronic devices (cell phones, tablets, gaming devices, etc...) your child brings to camp and will not be responsible for loss or damages to any.

The health, safety and well-being of our students, our staff, their families, and the community are most important to us. With that in mind, we have modified our typical format to fit current guidelines and best practices.

-Students are required to wear masks when attending camps/classes/workshops.

-Drop off is 5 minutes before class starts. Please do not arrive any earlier. Families may not wait in the classroom if arriving early to drop off or pick up. If you arrive early to drop off, please wait in your vehicle or outside. If you arrive early to pick up, you may certainly take your student early, but may not wait in the classroom for class to be over.

-Adults dropping off or picking up should not enter beyond the door to the classroom.
-All persons must wear a facial covering at all times. 
-We ask that families only send one person to drop off or pick up students. All others should wait in the car or outside the gate.
-Students who are sick, or have had a fever should not come to camp.
-Students are required to bring their own water bottles.

SMaRT Education reserves the right to further modify the class format as needed to comply with state/county/city government regulations as needed in the coming months. Protocols will continue to be refined and adjusted as needed to ensure everyone’s well being.

Palm Springs workshops are held at our science and technology center, SciTech Academy, which is located at the Palm Springs Air Museum - 745 N Gene Autry Trl, Palm Springs. Follow signs for the "Berger Annex" through the parking lot. 

*Refunds are given only when the SMaRT Education cancels the camp/class. SMaRT Education reserves the right to cancel and/or reschedule programs at any time. Credit is not given for absences/missed classes.
